考研英语作文:Should schools tighten administration on examinations 学校应加强考试管理

As a main way of measuring achievements in studies, examination is widely used in the educational system. And if it is well administrated it is an effective way for both teachers and students to get the reliable feedback on teaching and learning.

According to some reports from newspapers and magazines, it seems that the situation of cheating in examinations is getting more serious. In order to pass the exam, of get a

higher mark for gaining some qualifications, some students commit cheating in tests. They may even bribe the teacher in charge of the examination. That is not fair for those students who are honest and hardworking. In my opinion, schools should administer examinations strictly, so that all students are to act in fair competition and, stimulated to try their best in study. To put into effect of the regulations for the examinations may also help students' formation of good characters, like honesty and awareness of discipline. And, teachers might be more responsible while carrying out their teaching task.

Yet, some people would say tightening administration on test might cause many

inconveniences and create lots of extra work. For example, teachers might have to take extra trouble in arranging seats, or providing different versions of test papers. But I believe teachers who are responsible in their work would not mind those inconveniences. Still, some may argue that the strictly administered exam would affect the students, they might be more nervous when seeing two or three supervisors standing like police in the

classroom. This might be possible for those students who lack in confidence when they start at exams. Students well prepared for the test would worry little about it.

Although there might be some drawbacks for exams to be administered strictly, I still firmly hold on my view that schools should pay more attention to the administration on tests. Thus, the school may maintain her reputation, and the students will get real benefit from it. 范文二:

School should tighten administration on examination. There are three reasons responsible for supporting our opinion. First of all, it can offer an equal competition stage. What’s more, it can stimulate students’ desire for study. The last but not least, it can cultivate the awareness of honesty.

Suppose the student can be allowed to cheat on examinations, they will lose the interest in study and motivation to compete. To the industrial students, it’s unequal because their efforts are not well paid. In addition, cheating on exams can develop the character of dishonesty, which will do harm to the society in future.

All in all, we firmly support the idea that school should tighten administration on exams. Some people think the school should not tighten the administration of examinations based on the following consideration. First, it will result in examination jitters, which can make good students under performance. Next, it will waste a lot of time and energy and most importantly, it shows that the school doesn’t trust students. These aspects are true to some extent, but I strongly support tightening the administration. Jitters are a fact of life and students should learn to cope with nervousness all through their life. Secondly, the time and energy devoted to administration is well worth if students can behave

themselves after graduation. Finally, it doesn’t mean distrust because the society must run in some order, so does a school. In short, the administration of examination benefit both the school and students.

Study the following picture carefully and write an essay in which you should describe the

picture, interpret its implications in life, and support your vies with examples. 图画主要内容:一个穿黑色衣服的人在雪山冰川上攀登。

The picture presents us with a scene when a young man is climbing up a high and steep mountain. As there is no ready path leading up to the top, the climber is confronted with difficulties, obstacles, and even dangers. Without sufficient strength, iron will, enough patience and courage, it seems impossible for him to reach the summit.

The case with the climber, I suppose, is true of people in all walks of life. Anyone who longs for a meaningful and successful life has to ascend from the starting point up to his/her goal as the climber does.

Consequently, the fight for success can be won only by those who have strong resolutions and inflexible spirits. Successes can never be attained without painstaking effort and perseverance.

Countless facts justify my arguments. Thomas A. Edison, who was once a paper boy on the train, would never have become a great scientist and inventor, hadn’t he made

persistent endeavors to achieve success. As a college graduate, I’m resolved to pursue graduate studies and achieve something significant in my field despite of any troubles, hindrances, or even failures. I believe that there is nothing hard in the world only men lack a strong mind.

Study the following picture carefully and write an essay in which you should describe the picture, interpret its implications in life, and support your vies with examples. 图画内容:两人开着帆船在星空照耀下航行。文字:“理想如星辰---在星光的指引下,我们可像航海者一样, 勇敢前行……”

What a thought-provoking picyure: two people are braving the world in their small boat at night, the waves roaring and the stars shinning. Inevitably there are dangerous rocks at sea, but with their ideals in mind, they pluck up their courage to forge ahead.

What the cartoon symbolically reveals is that ideals, just like stars, can spur us to break through the darkness into our desired goal.

Life is unimaginable without ideals. Helen Keller, without ideals inspired by her dearest teacher, would not have “seen” so many things through mere touch, and hence would not have moved the world by her touching story. In the same way, Zhang Haidi, given her poor physical condition, would not have become a well-known writer without her ambition to rival life. With ideals encouraging us, we are moving forward more eagerly and confidently.

As dark night is formidable, so is a life void of ideals. Ideals are stars overhead, leading us to plough the sea of difficulties. With ideals in mind, we can cure fatal diseases; tame the ocean and we have every reason to believe that the future can only be better.

The gap between the ideal and reality

Can you narrow the gap between the ideal and reality? It's the matter many people want to solve. However, there is just so little people can answer the problem. Many of us cannot balance the relationship between ideal and reality. Some are lost in their dreams and never want to live in reality. They really don't know what they want or not. Maybe, they really don't have an aim. Let alone a life's goal. Some don't know what they will do for they have so many goals of life. They haven't realized that "A man's life is limited". The rest ,a little of the whole people in this world, know what they want, what they should do. And they have a plan to make their dreams, or aims come true.

We can see the differences between these three groups of people. What's the difference?

The success can walk from ideal to reality. Everyone has his or her dreams. Everyone is a great thinker. Everyone is special. People in this world have their own responsibility to others .You need to know that If you want to realize you dreams, you need to help others to make their dreams come true. Win-win is the key to success. Even there is a big gap between your ideals and realities, there's a way to solve it and make your ideals into reality.

We should never give up our ideals. The process of struggling for our ideals is so meaningful to our lives. One of the key elements of life is striving to build our own lives. We need ideals because they can give us a direction to find our way to success. We also should not ignore the importance of knowing the reality of life. In our ideals, there may be just one person. But in the reality, we should interact with different people and deal with many different things in front of us. There is a real gap between your ideals and realities. Fortunately, we can do our best to narrow the gap. Although there is a long way to come to the place full of flowers and applause, we have the ability to try our best to get to them.

Last, I want to say is there is no real contradictory between ideals and realities if you really do the right thing, right job. In turn, if do wrong things, you may lose a great many opportunities to reach the place you want and be a success.

Young People Should Have Ideals

To different people, the word "ideal" may mean different things. To some, it may mean success and fame in their career; to others, a peaceful life. Very often, we have ideals for the "self" and no ideal for society, let alone the people of the world. Is it a sound attitude toward life?

In my opinion, a youth should have ideals. But it is more important that these ideals are not merely centered on the "self". They should be also the ideals of the majority of people. Then you would get strength and confidence toward life for you are striving for the benefits of your fellowmen.

The setting up of an idea does not merely mean to go without doing anything. Real and concrete action should be taken. For us students, the most important thing to do is to study diligently. We study hard not to become bookworms, but to make us well-equipped and well-prepared for the pursuit of our ideals. Sometimes, in striving toward our ideas, we may encounter certain difficulties and failures. But we should not give up or lose hope, for as long as we try, there is always a way out.

"Little Emperor" in China

Recently in China, "Little Emperor" has become the nickname for many children. Due to the one-child policy, most Chinese family has only one child now and this one child is regarded as the treasure of the whole family. The parents and grandparents try thier best to satisfy the child's every need. He/She can get whatever he/she likes and avoid whatever he/she dislikes. It has been a common practice that the parents should obey their child's "order". As a result, the spoiled child becomes the "little emperor" who rules teh whole family.

This kind of fondness will do great harm to the children themselves. Under their parents' protection, the children know only comfort and ease. They can't live independently. They don't cherish what they get because they get things too easily. They can't cope with the adversities that they will meet with in the future. Moreover, too much praise makes the children proud. Therefore, the spoiled children are likely to develop all kinds of bad habits in the long run.

So parents and teachers should take measures to eliminate the phenomenon of "litter emperors". Firstly, they should be aware of the harmful effect fondness has on the children. Secondly, they should not hesitate to scold the children if they have done wrong. Thirdly, parents should deliberately create adverse conditions for the children to handle. "hardship education" has become popular with modern children. All these measures aim at the children's normal growth and development.

Should We Clone Human

These days the world is excited by a piece of news that we can clone a sheep now. There are not many technical problems for us to clone human. But should we clone human? People are discussing this question seriously.

Some people think that we should clone human becuase it is very useful in science. Firstly, by cloning human, people can learn more about genetics. People can know more details of genetic illness; and so people can try to treat them. Secondly, people can clone a person's apparatus if he needs to change it for a new one. In this way, we can solve the problme of high death rate in apparatus transplantation and we can get enough apparatus to cure the patients. Thirdly, one can clone himself. The new copy is completely the same as oneself, sot it can be regarded as the continuance of one's life.

However many people disagree, because there still exist many social problems. They ask the question if one can get another person's apparatus without any precondition though that person is cloned from him. They think that the cloned person is an independent person that has his own right. For the same reason, they also quesition if a cloned person can be considered the preson he cloned from. A body can be cloned, but how can we clone a person's soul?

My view is that we should not clone human now. We must consider the soical problems carefully. We should not clone human until we find good solutions to them.

As the proverb says, "no one knows the value of health until he loses it." In other words, nothing is more valuable than health. It is clear that health is the foundation of one's future success. If you become sick, it is nearly impossible to pursue your career effectvely. and much less to make your dreams come true. On the other hand, if you are stout and trong, you can go all out to overcome the obstacles that lie ahead of you.

Now that we know that health is the resource of our energy, what should we do to maintain and enhance our health? first, we should exercise every day to srengthen our muscles. Second, we might as well keep good hours. If we get up early, we can breathe fresh air and see the sunrise. This habit can do wonders for our outlook on life. Third, there is a proverb that says, "prevention is bettern than cure." If you pay close attention to your health, you can avoid getting sick, or at least cure yourself of a disease while it is still in its early stage.

In conclusion, health is of great importance to our life. If you want your wish to come ture, you should firstly build a healthy body.

Internet is a worldwide network of computers. It's just like a net of information that covers every corner of the world, that connects the whole planet into a "global village". With a few clicks on the keyboard, we can virtually visit everywhere in the world. While lots of people welcome the electronic era and enjoy the convenient services brought about by the internet, some are worrying about the problems it brought us.

On one hand, the Internet shows a closer and wider world than ever before. It helps us to widen communication and deepen relationship with each other and to enable us to do things more easily and quickly. For example, we can communicate freely by electronic mails with

people from all over the world. It takes only a few seconds to get a message across with the cost much lower than that of the postal service. Also, an enormous amount of information can be accessible through the Internet. A fantastic new world will be open to us just bu clicking the mouse.

But on the other hand, the Internet also brings us some troubles. Useless information, such as junk mails, and excessive games are pushed to us, which waste a lot of our precious time to sort them out. Some web sites contain unhealthy contents, which is harmful especially to children and teenagers. Furthermore, computer network has become so indispensable for personal contacts and public services that once the routine functioning of the system is infected by virus, valuable information may be revealed or lost, which can bring about many problems to the individuals or social institutions. Therefore, the safety of network has become a growing public concern.

All in all, we can't live without computer network now. There's no limit to things the Internet can do. But at the same time we must try to find out new ways to cope with problems that will arise as it become a natural part of our lives.

Watching Me Go 赤子情深

来源:《英语温馨夜读II》 时间:2007-09-19

My son Brendan cried his first day of school. Even Mrs. Phillips, a kind, soft-spoken master of the six-year-old mind, could not coax him to a seat. His eyes streamed, his nose ran and he clung to me like a snail on a strawberry. I plucked him off and escaped.

It wasn't that Brendan didn't like school. He just didn't like being apart from me. We'd had some good times, he and I, in those preschool years. We played at the pool. We skated on quiet morning ice. We sampled half the treat tray at weekly neighborhood coffee parties. Now in Grade 1, Brendan was faced with five hours of wondering what I was doing with my day.

Brendan always came home for lunch, the only one of his class not to eat at his desk. But once home, fed and hugged, a far-away look of longing would crease his gentle brow—he wanted to go back to school to play! So I walked him back, waited with him until he spotted someone he knew, then left. He told me once that he watched me until he couldn't see me anymore, so I always walked fast and never looked back.{ideals英语作文}.

One day when I took Brendan back after lunch, he spied a friend, kissed me goodbye, and scampered right off. I went, feeling pleased for him, celebrating his new independence, his entry into the first-grade social loop. Then—I didn't know why—I glanced back. And there he was. The playground buzzed all around him, kids everywhere, and he stood, his chin tucked close, his body held small, his face intent but not sad, blowing me kisses. So brave, so unashamed, so completely loving, Brendan was watching me go.

No book on mothering could have prepared me for that quick, raw glimpse into my child's soul. My mind leaped 15 years ahead to him packing boxes and his dog grown old and him saying, "Dry up, Mom. It's not like I'm leaving the country." In my mind I tore up the card every mother signs saying she'll let her child go when he's ready. I looked at my Brendan, his shirt tucked in, every button done up, his toes just turned in a bit, and I thought, "OK, you're six for me forever." With a smile I had to really dig for, I blew him a kiss, turned and walked away.

Grandpa's Valentine 爷爷的情人卡

来源:《英语温馨夜读II》 时间:2007-09-13{ideals英语作文}.

I received a call from the nursing home. Grandpa was failing rapidly. I should come. There was nothing to do but hold his hand. "I love you, Grandpa. Thank you for always being there for me."

Memories...memories...six days a week, Grandpa in that old blue shirt caring for those cattle...on hot summer days plowing the soil, planting the corn and beans and harvesting them in the fall...always working from dawn to dusk. Survival demanded work, work, work.

But on Sundays he put on his gray suit and hat. Grandma wore her wine-colored dress and ivory beads, and they went to church. Grandpa and Grandma were quiet, peaceful, unemotional people.

The nurse apologized for having to ask me so soon to remove Grandpa's things from the room. It would not take long. There wasn't much. Then I found it in the top drawer of his nightstand. It looked like a very old handmade valentine. What must have been red paper at one time was a streaked faded pink. A piece of white paper had been glued to the center of the heart. On it, penned in Grandma's handwriting, were these words:

With All My Love,

February 14, 1895

Are you alive? Real? Or are you the most beautiful dream that I have had in years? Are you an angel—or a figment of my imagination? Someone I fabricated to fill the void? To soothe the pain? Where did you find the time to listen? How could you understand?

You made me laugh when my heart was crying. You took me dancing when I couldn't take a step. You helped me set new goals when I was dying. You showed me dew drops and I had diamonds. You brought me wildflowers and I had orchids. You sang to me and angelic choirs burst forth in song. You held my hand and my whole being loved you. You gave me a ring and I belonged to you. I belonged to you and I have experienced all.

Tears streamed down my cheeks as I read the words. I pictured the old couple I had always known. It's difficult to imagine your grandparents in any other role than that. What I read was so beautiful and sacred. Grandpa had kept it all those years. Now it is framed on my dresser, a treasured part of family history.

Get a Thorough Understanding of Oneself 彻悟自我

来源:《英语温馨夜读II》 时间:2007-09-10

In all one's lifetime it is oneself that one spends the most time being with or dealing with. But it is precisely oneself that one has the least understanding of. When you are going upwards in life you tend to overestimate yourself. When you are going downhill you tend to underestimate yourself. It's likely that you think it wise for yourself to know your place and stay aloof from worldly wearing a mask of cowardice, behind which the flow of sap in your life will be retarded.

To get a thorough understanding of oneself is to gain a correct view of oneself and be a sober realist—aware of both one's strength and shortage. You may look forward hopefully to the future but be sure not to expect too much, for ideals can never be fully realized. You may be courageous to meet challenges but it should be clear to you where to direct your efforts.

To get a thorough understanding of oneself needs self-appreciation. Whether you liken yourself to a towering tree or a blade of grass, whether you think you are a high mountain or a small stone, you represent a state of nature that has its own reason of existence. If you earnestly admire yourself you'll have a real sense of self-appreciation, which will give you confidence. As soon as you gain full confidence in yourself you'll be enabled to fight and overcome any adversity.{ideals英语作文}.

To get a thorough understanding of oneself also requires doing oneself a favor when it's needed. In time of anger, do yourself a favor by giving vent to it in a quiet place so that you won't be hurt by its flames; in time of sadness, do yourself a favor by sharing it with your friends so as to change a gloomy mood into a cheerful one; in time of tiredness, do yourself a favor by getting a good sleep or taking some tonic. Show yourself loving concern about your health and daily life. Unless you know perfectly well when and how to do yourself a favor, you won't be confident and ready enough to resist the attack of illness.

To get a thorough understanding of oneself is to get a full control of one's life. Then one will find one's life full of color and flavor.

第一篇In my understanding, if we refer to an ideal college life as a formal western dinner, then a high GPA, that is, Grade Point Average, should be the main course, while an active part in activities, together with associations, means the appetizer. Some romances, of course, play the role as desserts. They are the 3 key elements for an ideal college life.

Those, however, are not what college life is all about. As we all know, college is wildly different from middle school. It connects not only adolescence to adulthood, but also the ivory tower to the real society. Therefore, the ideal college life is that I become matured both physically and mentally, and that I obtain qualified academic knowledge and get well prepared for society at the same time.

Under this circumstance, I never expect my college life to be too ideal, or you can call it too perfect. It is not realistic to make all things on my own way, with everyone liking me, winning the first prize all the time, and so on. Of course, I’d like to lead a carefree life. However, this does little good to my future. What really helps is hardships like failure, betrayal, and unjust treatment. Only after experiencing those can I know what society is like, and what life is like.

To conclude my speech, I wanna say, some positive experiences are surely part of the ideal college life. But, I should not forget about the negative sides. They are not less necessary.

My university life

We will never forget our freshman year at college. In general it is a time filled with anticipation, some anxiety, and wonderful discoveries.

College is much different than high school. You may decide to commute from your home to a local campus. Without doubt, the most dramatic freshman year is for those living away from home. What can we expect as we head off into the wonderful world of higher education?

The first thing I notice is the workload. It is heavier and more intense than I ever experienced before. The major challenges of college work are large

volume of reading, short deadlines, and “endless” writing. A related effect that can be brought on by the workload is doubt, frustration, and loneliness if possible.

On some of those long, seemingly endless nights of studying and writing, it will be very natural for me to long for fine old days. Hang in there. These down periods will pass.

I have made a lot of new friends. I am sure college friendships will be among the most satisfying and long-term in my life. It's always exciting to discover how wonderfully diverse college relationships can be.

I am enjoying my newfound freedom. Stay up until dawn talking about my ideals and ambitions with my dorm's regular bull session buddies. Sleep in until the afternoon on a light class day. Explore the local town or suburbs with one or two of my new friends.

I even start to think about my future. Going to college is as much about finding out who am I as it is about getting the degree.

我什至开始思考自己的未来。上大学既是找到了我是谁,因为它是获得学位。 这篇就比较短,希望对你有用呵呵。

My College Life

How time flies! It has been two years since I came to XXX College. In the two years, many things have happened. I also meet a lot of friends here.

Two years is not too long for man's life. But the two years I lived on campus has changed me a lot. For example, from the day I was born to the day I went to school, I had never left home alone for a long time and do housework by myself. How to deal with my roommates and classmates? These questions were all difficult for me to work out at that time. Today I get on well with them and do everything in life calmly. But all these changes were not easy for me. Sometimes I feel lonely, angry and also homesick. But fortunately I meet a lot of good friends. They helped me spend these sad days. I find words cannot express my sincere thanks to them. When they need help, I will do everything I can to help those who helped me before.

I'll have another two years in college, which I will treasure with my friends. Everything in college will be my great memory in my life for ever.

I am majoring in English in my university. At first, I got very nervous whenever I have to give my opinion and make a presentation in class, because I had not had such experiences before. However, I think that it is the valuable

experiences to get accustomed to express my own opinions and feelings.

A pleasant part of university life is long vacations. It is very good to consider a plan. I am considering about staying in Australia in next summer vacation. I think it will be an enjoyable vacation and an opportunity for me to get an incentive for the language study.

College life

As a sophomore, I feel that the time flies.

You may consider that college life is boring. As we don’t know how to deal with the plenty of spare time. But I define the college life will become wonderful . Frist, I am a girl who like freedom. In my college life, I can play computer very late, Whitout worrying my parents asking me to go to bed at the midnight. Second, I like rock'n'roll, I can play the music very loudly in my dorm. On the contrary , my mother will be angry when I listen to the music in my home. And then , You can join a lot of associations and University Student Councils In our college, It is a training for collegers. I join in atheneum with a lot of lovely girls, so we chat very happy. As we held several parties, I felt very successful and seeing everyone united, I was very glad and deeply moved . Another , I am absorbed grand library, school buildings and wide playground. Our campus obtains beautiful environment and good atmosphere to study . My school’s library has a lot of different books and magazines. Every weekend , a lot of students can go to library to read the books. Otherwise ,our school have a lot of foreign teachers, In you free time, you can go to the PETER HOLL and visit the foreign teachers. Through conversation with foreign teachers it practise your English. In your spare time, you can play basketball, pingpang and so on. Doing sports is very interesting and good for your health. In fact, you can do anything which you are interested in.

In a word, college life is wonderful!

college life

There are obvious differences between high school life and college life. First, college students will live in the dormitory with classmates who come from various places, and who may have different living habits. Second, college

teachers ,instead of explaning in detail how to solve every problem, might only tell different approaches to the problem, and leave students to study and solve problems independently. Finally, in college, there is more free time for students to spend on.

However how should the college freshman adapt himself to these differeces. First of all, he should learn to be tolerant and consider more for others, which is necessary for group

living. Moreover he should take active part in collective activities and make more communication with classmates and teachers. It will help he be smoothly integrated with your new environment. Besides,as to study,he should develop a good habit of self-teaching and learn to arrange study independently. Of course,it may take a freshman some while to become accustomed to the study and life in college. However, we all have to accept constant challenges of new things in our life. To conclude, college students should try to adapt himself to college life as soon as possible, so as to take full advantages of their precious college time

Remembering My Grade School Days

I began school at seven in accordance with the law in a remote village. Short of funds, the school had only a few classrooms, all poorly constructed. Needless to say, our teachers were few, too. As a pupil I preferred the playground to the classroom and often liked to play tricks on girls, as by hiding insects in their desk drawers. On one occasion, I even grimaced behind the back of our teacher, causing the whole class to break into laughter; however, instead of becoming angry, he merely asked why we were laughing and wondered whether there was anything wrong with him. On another occasion, I punctured the tires of a car parked inside the school by using something sharppointed, leaving the principal frightened and bewildered after he had noticed that. Such were the happy moments in my life at that school. The happiest moment, to me and to all of my schoolmates, however, was the one when the school was letting out at the last bell of the day and we were rushing home as if we would never be back. Once, on our way home, a bunch of naughty students found a

3. 你的理想及实现的途径

Everyone has his ideals. A businessman wishes to make greater profit; a farmer expects good harvests; a student tries to learn more and better. However, one should be sensible about whether his ideal is well founded or not. If it is, one has to plan and work hard for its realization. Effort, skill and persistence are all necessary. And very often, one has to get help from others, including advice and support in one form or another. My ideal is to become a doctor. It is said that the field of medicine is a well-paid profession, but I take it as a lofty profession entrusted with saving people's lives. To realize my ideal I have concentrated on laboratory work to develop the analytical skills necessary to become a qualified doctor. I'm sure I will persevere in this pursuit.
